What was your inspiration for this project?
Our clients’ came to us with architectural drawings already completed but wanted help with the design of their interior. Every time we spoke, everything about their style always embodied a Colorado cabin. They loved warm wood tones, rough cut stone, and subtle colors inspired by nature. So our goal was to incorporate that in their home wherever possible. This translated to wood used as almost every surface somewhere in the house.
What was your greatest challenge?
The house beautifully captures the views around it and provides an amazing connection between the interior and exterior. However, it was more modern and open than a traditional cabin. Therefore, finding the balance between the architecture and our clients’ style was tricky at times.
What were you most proud of / excited about?
We absolutely loved how open and bright this house was while still feeling warm and inviting. Tackling a dichotomy challenge between style and architecture can often prove tricky, but we adore how cozy this house feels even with its tall, grand rooms.
