Parade House

What was your inspiration for this project?
This home was designed as a spec house. Not knowing who the end user would be, we aimed to make the layout as appealing as possible to all groups. Muted colors and an open floor plan were key features. We also created a separate office/ADU room that could be used as a lock-off for either an Airbnb/VRBO or home office.
What was your biggest challenge?
The greatest challenge on this house was the timeline. Because it was being built during the pandemic and had a hard end date (the Parade of Homes), many items we originally sourced were not available when it came time to build so we had to pivot and select new materials quickly. Doing so and trying to stay on budget/aesthetic was not easy.
What are you most proud of / excited about?
I am most proud of the kitchen in this home. We got creative with the pantry and placed the microwave out of sight there. We maximized the wall space with cabinetry and prioritized large view windows into the backyard as well as played with an adventurous cabinet color (green).
